In mid-2001, the family-owned and operated winery undertook the restoration of a XIXth century wine cellar, "Bodega el Montanes," with the intention of preserving the cellar's antique structure: keeping the original stone walls, Arabic tile roof, and pine wood beams and frame. Criptana has also rehabilitated the zones in desuetude, bringing in the latest technological advancements in the winemaking industry. The inspiration for the project was to renovate the winery while letting the aromas of the maceration and fermentation of the wine to breathe life into the150 year old foundation. That dream is now a reality. The new winery is an open space where culture, family, and craftsmanship unite with state-of-the-art winemaking technology, converting it into a meeting and learning place for those who wish to discover one of the traditions so deeply rooted in our soil. After two years of hard work and over two million euros in investments, Campo de Criptana, is ready to begin its journey into one of the Spanish economy’s key sectors. Winery and Vineyards Castiblanque’s founding ambition was to lead La Mancha to become one of the top viticultural regions where their wines rival the best. And now, it is arguably one of the best picks in Castilla La Mancha making it the area's greatest investment for the future.
